Exhibitors from almost 20 countries are taking part in the largest holiday tourism fair in the region of North Rhine-Westphalia this year, and it is one of the crucial events for the promotion and presentation of trends in the camping industry.

The President of the F.I.C.C. – Fédération Internationale de Camping, Caravanning et Autocaravaning A.I.S.B.L. (World Federation of Camping and Caravanning), João Alves Pereira, presented a special award for the Camping Resort on the Island of Obonjan in the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Tonči Glavina, and the Director of the Croatian Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić, at the opening ceremony of the fair on February 19, 2025. The award was presented as part of the education program that operates through the FICC camping symposium „Back to Nature“!

The text of the recognition reads: Diploma of quality and merit in recognition of the unique concept „One Island – One Camping Resort“, high quality, and loyalty of CCI Camping Card International! The Camping Resort Obonjan project is outstanding in the world of camping design, created in 1971.

Once known as the Island of Youth, today Obonjan celebrates 54 years of romantic and recreational excellence.

The island of Obonjan embodies a unique vision — „One Island, One Resort“ — positioning itself as an exclusive camping and tourism experience with no parallel in Europe or anywhere else in the world.

The President of the Board of Resort Obonjan, Slobodan Bursac, received the award, which is essentially addressed to him as the visionary of the concept. This vision was recognized by F.I.C.C. experts as a specific project, which, as a unique camping island, contributed great value to the camping world and to the users of camping services, conceived with care and precision for the bravest explorers of natural and peaceful environments, oases for the soul and the body.

In this superior approach that looked into the future half a century ago, without forgetting the roots of Mediterranean tourist excellence, the F.I.C.C. – Fédération Internationale de Camping, Caravanning et Autocaravaning A.I.S.B.L. (World Federation of Camping and Caravanning) from Brussels recognized the brilliant creativity of a visionary who turned an abandoned island into a timeless creation tailored for the user.

Thus, specialty and exclusivity were reaffirmed as key elements in shaping a unique and captivating environment.
