Breathalysers in France

Date: 30/05/2012
Source: FICC

From 1 July 2012 all motorists (including tourists) are legally obliged to carry a recognised alcohol testing kit. Each kit costs about €1.50 - €2.00 and can be purchased at almost any French supermarket or pharmacy. If you are found driving in France without one in your vehicle, you could be fined €11.00. Warning: breathalyser kits only have a 2-year life after which they must be replaced.
