The National Feast of Lanterns – The Camping and Caravanning Club
The traditional National Feast of Lanterns will be held from 28 August to 1 September 2014 thus bringing the camping season to a close as campers gather round the campfire with their old lanterns to mark the end of the camping year.
Lighting up is still a key tradition however and members now decorate their units with everything from tea lights to generator-powered fairy lights creating beautiful street scenes. An annual themed Mardi Gras parade is also held, plus a Club pennon parade where Regions, Sections and DA’s join together to show off their colours in the final arena prior to the closing ceremony.

The Camping and Caravanning Club has a female President for the first time in its history.
Julia Bradbury (a well-known TV presenter who presents programmes such as Countryfile and Watchdog) has become the first female President in the Camping and Caravanning Club’s 112 year history. She replaces David Bellamy who was one of the prestigious speakers at F.I.C.C.’s 75th anniversary ceremony in Brussels Townhall.
Mrs. Bradbury is an enthusiastic camper and environmentalist who is committed to nature conservation in general and the preservation of the countryside in particular.

The Rallyclub Nederland is celebrating its 25th anniversary by organising a rally from 24 to 28 April 2014. The Club was founded on 28 January 1989 with the aim of promoting international exchanges between campers from different clubs and nationalities.
This celebratory rally will take place at “De Schatberg“ a beautifully appointed campsite in Sevenum near Venlo where the 2012 Floriade Rally was held.
The Club is arranging a special programme of varied activities in the expectation that there will be participants from all over Europe.
