FEE was very active at the World Environmental Education Congress held in Marrakech, Morocco, in June 2013

There were 1,400 participants at the 7th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) that was organised by FEE’s Moroccan member.

FEE President, Jan Eriksen, gave a welcome message and other speakers included HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa, Mrs. Irina Bukova (General Director of UNESCO), Mr. Abdelziz Otmane Attwijri (General Director of ISESCO), Mr. Achim Steiner (Executive Director of UNEP) and Mr. Mario Salomone (Secretary General of the WEEC Network).

FEE took part in the first plenary session of the Congress “The education pillar of ecological transition“, at which the President of FEE gave a general presentation of FEE and its programmes.
Some FEE member organisations were very active during the Congress and Mohamed VI Foundation (FEE Morocco) mounted an exhibition about the Eco-Schools Programme. Students from the YRE Programms were actively participating in the event. FEE’s new member organisation from India, “Centre for Environmental Education“ was in charge of a workshop at the Congress.
