Many campers travel with their dog. As opposed to human beings, dogs do not sweat and in case of high activity in high temperatures they may be faced with serious heart or blood stream disorders. Therefore activities should take place in cooler times of the day and should be stopped at once in case of exhaustion. This is particularly true for old dogs that need breaks to get cooler and recover from their efforts, with enough drinking water available.
In case there is no air conditioning in the vehicle, journeys with your dog should preferably take place in the morning or the evening. Otherwise a road congestion may become a hazard. Never leave you dog on its own in the vehicle: even in the shade, temperatures may rise sharply and become fatal.
